Faculty Presenters: Vicki Bennett, Tracy Cotner-Pouncy & Amy Koestner
Bios:
Vicki Bennett is currently the Executive Director, Trauma Services for Banner Health. She was a TPM/Director for over 25 years prior to assuming an executive leadership role for the system trauma service line in 2016. Vicki is active at the local, state, and national levels and holds membership in many professional organizations. She has presented on a variety of trauma topics to local and national audiences and remains an instructor, faculty and/or coordinator for many courses. She serves as an ACS trauma center site reviewer as well as a state trauma surveyor.
Amy Koestner is the Director of Trauma Services for Corewell Health Butterworth, an ACS verified Level I Trauma Center, located in Grand Rapids, MI. Amy has a 30-year nursing career, with experience spanning pediatric and adult ICU care, flight nursing, and over 20 years as a Trauma Program Manager. Michigan. Amy is an active in the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) for over 20 years, serving in a variety of leadership roles, including President in 2008. She is a Nurse Reviewer for ACS Trauma Verification Committee and the State of Michigan designation process.
Tracy Cotner-Pouncy is currently the Sr. Director of Trauma Services for UCHealth Northern Colorado with over 25 years of trauma management experience. She has been in this role since March 2021. Previously, she served as the Senior Director of Trauma Services for the Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Programs at University Health System in San Antonio, Texas for ten years. Prior to that, she was the Trauma Program Manager at Wilford Hall Medical Center, a military Level I trauma program in San Antonio. Ms. Cotner-Pouncy started her trauma career as the Trauma Designation Coordinator for the Texas Department of Health.
Ms. Cotner-Pouncy is a regional, state, and national leader in trauma management. She currently serves as a Director-at-Large for the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN). She is also a member of the Trauma Nursing Leadership Council for the American Trauma Society (ATS) and a member of the Trauma Systems Committee for the Trauma Centers Association of America (TCAA). Ms. Cotner-Pouncy serves as a Nurse Reviewer for the American College of Surgeons (ACS) as well as a Nurse Partner for the ACS Best Practice Guideline Workgroup. At the State level, Ms. Cotner-Pouncy is a member of the Colorado Trauma Network (CTN) and serves as the Rural Implementation Committee Chair for the Colorado Whole Blood Coalition.
