Hosted by the TCAA Pediatric Committee, this interactive webinar will feature a panel discussion focused on practical approaches to caring for injured pediatric patients during trauma situations. Panelists will share age-appropriate communication and distraction techniques, strategies to reduce pediatric medical traumatic stress, and approaches to promote coping and emotional support throughout trauma care. The discussion will also explore how developmental differences can influence a child’s understanding, responses, and ability to cope with stressful or traumatic medical experiences.

Attendees will be able to: 

  • Identify age-appropriate communication (and distraction) techniques to communicate with injured pediatric patients.
  • Identify practical strategies and techniques to reduce pediatric medical traumatic stress and support coping during trauma care.
