Provider Experiences of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Provider Experiences of the COVID-19 Pandemic is a TCAA course created from the 4 part webinar miniseries: COVID, Mental Health and the Holidays. The course discusses the impact of COVID, what phases of disaster response we have come through, and how healthcare workers can assess their mental health needs in this marathon response.

1. Describe what TSOS is 
2. List the different phases related to disaster response 
3. Identify three activities to promote healthcare- provider's physical and emotional health 

Faculty Presenters: Dr.Doug Zatzick and Kathleen Moloney

Faculty Bio:

Douglas Zatzick, M.D., is currently a professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at University of Washington School of Medicine. Over the past two decades, he has developed a public health approach to trauma-focused research and clinical work emphasizing clinical epidemiologic, functional outcome, and early intervention studies of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related co-morbid conditions. As a part of multidisciplinary collaborative group, he is working to use clinical trial results to influence policy for PTSD screening and intervention at trauma centers throughout the United States.

Kathleen Moloney is currently a Research Study Coordinator in the Trauma Survivors Outcomes and Support (TSOS) research group under Dr. Zatzick and a Master of Public Health student at the University of Washington. Prior to joining the TSOS group, she worked in disaster response and recovery with the American Red Cross, deploying to large-scale natural disasters such as the Carr Fire in Northern California and Hurricane Michael in the Florida Panhandle.
