Marcela Juarez will explore the different types of burns, their severity, and procedures associated with burn injuries. Marcela will also guide you through case studies to reinforce today’s principles. The session will also provide a detailed review of ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, including site, severity, extent, external causes, and commonly used ICD-10-PCS procedure codes for burn treatment.

Bio: Marcela is a project team lead and content expert with extensive experience in data management and healthcare analytics. She works as a Data Management Analyst and Lead Trauma Registrar at a Level 2 Trauma Center and holds a Bachelor's in Health Informatics and a Master’s in Healthcare Management. A Certified Project Manager, Registered Health Information Technician, and Certified Coding Specialist, she specializes in data analytics, performance improvement, and process optimization.

With over 20 years in healthcare, Marcela has led strategic initiatives, system enhancements, and policy development across pathology, laboratories, physician offices, health information management, and trauma care. She enjoys traveling, family time, and continuous learning.
