According to Barleycorn and Lee (2018), trauma simulation training is an effective educational tool and improves trauma team performance. The Rutgers Sims Team will join TCAA on March 28th to review the importance of sims training, the pros and cons of this type of teaching, the resources needed, and how to start building your own scenario design.
Attendees will be able to:
1. Describe how simulation and experiential learning are different from standard lecture formats as teaching modalities
2. Restate the different types of simulation modalities
3. Identify and define five SIM zones
4. Discuss pros and cons of different simulation environments
5. Identify at least three types of simulation source material
6. Diagram a plan for your own scenario design
