Faculty Presenter: Alex Shaner

Presenter Bio
Alex Shaner is a 32-year-old resident of North County San Diego who is a walking quadriplegic. His injury caused significant disruptions to his life, but he was able to continue pursuing his passion for public service. He has spent his career serving his community, first as an Ocean Lifeguard and now as a Fire Inspector. To achieve this, he had to overcome significant obstacles and draw strength from within.
